Mont Ventoux also called the Giant of Provence peaks at 1910 meters above sea level. Formed of limestone dating from -155 M years (Jurassic), the Ventoux erected in the Cenomanian between -95 and -40 million years ago. The summit is covered with these limestones which exploded under the effect of successive frosts and thaws. The wind blows very often at the top and can reach very powerful gusts, the record is 320 km / h (November 1967). Snow is frequent there in winter and tracks allow amateurs to ski with a unique panorama.
