The quiver tree - Aloidendron dichotomum- was called Aloe dichotoma until recently. This tree can reach 7 meters high and live 80 years and is a tree aloe that is found in Namibia and South Africa. It owes its name to the bushmen who use its branches and bark to make quivers where they put their arrows. Although resistant to hot weather and arid environments this tree is in decline due to climate change. Aloidendron dichotomum was placed in 2010 on the list of the 10 species most threatened by global warming.
